The population was 1,139 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Florence Metropolitan Statistical Area. ==Geography== Pamplico is located at (33.996071, -79.567777). It is located near the Pee Dee River, approximately 19 miles south of Florence. South Carolina Highway 51, a secondary thoroughfare for traffic to Myrtle Beach intersects the town. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , of which, of it is land and 0.54% is water.
